Nope, Cake pops can be stored at room temperature since everything is baked. Think of it as a cookie. You don’t really need to refrigerate baked cookies, right?

If your cake pops cracked, the most common reason for this is that the cake pops were too cold and the candy melts were too hot. When the two come in contact the sudden temperature change can cause a shock to the candy melts and eventually crack the shell.

You can make Oreo crumbs using a food processor or blender, or place the Oreos in a large ziplock bag and crush the Oreos using a rubber mallet or rolling pin until you have fine crumbs.

Melt the butter and add it into the crumbs along with the sweetened condensed milk. Stir or blend the ingredients until they are mixed in completely.

Use a small cookie scoop or a tablespoon to portion into 1-inch balls, then gently roll into a ball. The filling should hold together easily. If it is crumbly then you may need to add more sweetened condensed milk.

Melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave, according to the package directions. You can also use a double-boiler if you prefer. Then work one at a time to coat the balls in the melted chocolate.

Place one ball into the chocolate and roll it to coat thoroughly. One of the easiest ways to remove the balls is with a fork. Simply scoop up the truffle and let the excess chocolate drip off.

I recommend Ghiradelli melting wafers. They are very easy to use and they firm up nicely once cooled. Wilton melting wafers or melted almond bark can also be used.

Chocolate chips are tricky to work with as their texture is not as smooth and they can be messy even once the chocolate cools. If you do need to use chocolate chips for dipping then add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to the melted chocolate to help with the consistency.

If you store your Oreo Balls in the refrigerator in an airtight container they will be good for up to 3 weeks.

Yes, flash-freeze the Oreo Balls before placing them in a freezer bag, or separate the balls with parchment or wax paper. They will keep in the freezer for up to 4 months.

If your Oreo balls fall apart when forming them into balls then they need more liquid. If needed, you can add some additional sweetened condensed milk until you have a dough that is easy to form into balls.

In order to make this recipe gluten-free, you will just need to purchase Gluten-Free Oreos. The other ingredients do not typically contain gluten but read your labels to be sure.

Don’t you just love that feeling when everyone goes crazy for a dessert you made? Especially when they have no idea how easy it was?

STEP FOUR: Once the truffles have chilled, melt your milk chocolate. Then, using the toothpick as a handle, dip the truffles into your melted chocolate before placing them back on the lined baking sheet.

STEP SIX: Remove the toothpick. Dip your finger into the chocolate and add a dab to seal the hole from the toothpick.

STEP SEVEN: Melt your white chocolate, pour into a Ziploc baggie, and cut the tip of a corner off. Use as a piping bag to create your white drizzle.

Easy Oreo Truffles (only 4 Ingredients!)

The trick is to make the Oreo balls with condensed milk instead of cream cheese! Combined with the filling of Double Stuf Oreos, we get the perfect truffle center!

-

I recommend using Double Stuf Oreos because the extra filling helps bind the truffle together. It also balances the condensed milk and keeps the recipe from being too rich.

For me, cream cheese always seems to overpower the flavor of my truffles. But these Oreo truffles with condensed milk hit the spot every time!

Oreo Truffles (cookie Balls)

I think using a food processor is the most effective way to blend up the Oreos. You just pulse until you have the perfect texture.

However, if you don’t have a food processor or want to avoid the extra dishes, that’s no problem! Toss your Oreos in a gallon-sized bag and crush them with a rolling pin until you get that fine crumb.

I usually lower the power setting on my microwave to half power, then microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each one until I reach my desired consistency.

Mint Oreo Balls Without Cream Cheese

Once the truffles are set and chocolate has melted, just grab hold of the toothpick, dip the truffle, and voila. So easy.

I recommend avoiding normal semi-sweet chocolate chips when possible. If you do need to use them, add a tiny amount of coconut oil to the chocolate before melting to help with the texture and consistency.

These tasty treats will stay fresh in the refrigerator for about a week… if they last that long! Just make sure to store them in an airtight container
