Not all the kids from my children’s school had known about cake pops before I “introduced” cake pops to them. I’ve made cake pops for their school parties and bake sale events. And now when they have parties, they kind of look forward to my kids to bring cake pops to school.
Kids love cake pops. My son doesn’t like to eat cake. I know, such a geeky weird boy I am raising here. But he adores cake pops. And it’s quite understandable. Cake pops are cute, colourful, fun to eat and if you are creative, you can go really crazy to cheer up your kids.
They were pretty excited about the easy-to-make monster cake pops I had made for their Halloween party. These snowman cake pops are more fancy and a bit more complicated to make. But you know it’s Christmas! Kids deserve to be spoiled and have something a little more special!

Any vanilla cake can be made into a snowman, but these cake balls use the cooked cake in another way – to make a firm batter for cake pops in the shape of snowmen.
Scintillating Snowman Cake Pops
You can either buy a vanilla sheet cake or bake your vanilla cake as directed on the package. When it has baked and cooled, break it into pieces and add to a large bowl.
Stir in four tablespoons of vanilla frosting and mix until the cake mixture is crumbly. (for faster mixing using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, if you have one.)

The easiest way to make the cake pops it to make just the heads. For these, use a melon ballers to scoop out the dough. Roll the dough to form 48 balls. Be sure to roll until the balls are very smooth.
To form full snowman requires two sizes of balls – 24 small balls for the heads and 24 medium sized balls for the body.
Place the balls in the fridge for about 15 minutes. The warmth of your hands will make the ball mixture soft and the fridge will firm them up again.

If you are making just the snowman head, push the stick through the single ball but don’t let the stick protrude above the top.
Candy melts will burn and seize easily. Be careful not to overheat. I use about a 50-70% power and stir every 30 seconds. (your microwave setting may vary.)
