How To Make Owl Cake Pop

Besides Owl Cake Pops and other things, she got this cute smartphone case with the cutest owl pattern ever. I bought it at DaWanda.

We all surprised her last night at a mexican restaurant; she thought she was with her friend Maren only, then saw us sitting there on a huge table, with many candles and gifts – she was so surprised and happy!

Owl

Unfortunately I did not make a tutorial on how to make these cute owlies, but let me know in the comment section, if you guys are interested in a tutorial?

This year, I’m absolutely swooning over our theme – owls!

When I think of owl cake pops, my friend Nicole instantly comes to mind. Her owl cake pops are incredible, so I asked if she’d stop by le’ blog and share her tips. Like any good Valentine’s Day proposal – she said yes! So, without further ado…

How To Make Cutie Chocolate Owl Suckers

Hey all! Nicole here from Bella’s Bakery & Bowtique. I love creating bite-sized pieces of art and sharing tips and tricks along the way. Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to see lots of my yummy food art.

Some of my favorite cake pops to dip & decorate are owls. Today I’m going to show you how to make this pretty and sweet bird with some Valentiney flair.

Owl

First, cut the top swirl off of chocolate chips at an angle to get a perfect owl ear shape. Make sure you taste test the chips… it’s important.

Dip your blingstick into the melted chocolate and insert into the oval cakeball (just take a round cakeball and rub between your hands until you get an oval shape).

Once the ears set, dip the pop into your melted chocolate and tap off the excess candy. I usually count to 12 while tapping then turn upright. Then give a couple extra taps and let dry completely. Next, brush on some sparkle! I used luster dust in cotton candy on this beauty.

* Important – leave the pop alone for a good 20 minutes. This way when you attach the candy features, you won’t get cracks.

To take this beauty bird to the next level, I added a chest pattern in hearts. It’s Valentine’s Day after all and whooooo will always love you?

For some finishing touches, I add a sparkle in her eye (dot with white chocolate) and some luscious lashes. Start with 3 dots, then swipe upwards and outwards with a toothpick… just how I apply my mascara 🙂I’m starting to think of Valentine’s Day! Starting… Who am I kidding. Valentine’s day stuff has been blowing up my Pinterest boards since December 26th! Ha!!

Bakery:

For 2014, I’ve teamed up with Alicia from Miss Ali’s Cake Pops to make me some seasonal tags. She made some cute boy and girl tags that you can use for cake pop tags or cupcake toppers. Best of all, they are great year round!

Wonderful Diy Cute Owl Cake

To start, make you cake pop dough and shape into a flattened egg shape. Dip the cake pop in dark chocolate and add the ears and wing to the wet chocolate.

Now, dip the cake pop at an angle in the pink (or blue) candy. Carefully tap off the excess and dip the opposite angle.

To make the leaves, I usedthis moldand then attached the leaves to the pretzel stick with green candy. Then I added a touch of chocolate to the center of the pretzel stick and held it under the owl and added my feet.

I was tempted to add a few more “details” like a bow or eyelashes or even scalloped “feathers” on their chest, but I liked them just the way there were and didn’t want to mess up a good thing.

Last Valentine’s Day, my Cake Pop BFF, Kim and I made our Love Bugs. This year, we’ve teamed up for these owls.

How

To start, make you cake pop dough and shape into a egg shape that’s a bit flattened on the top. Dip the cake pop in dark chocolate and add the ears and wing to the wet chocolate. Let it dry while you complete all the pops in this manner.

The Starbucks Fall Menu Is Coming Including A New Owl Cake Pop

Dip the cake pop at an angle, to cover the ear and wing, in the pink (or blue) candy. Carefully tap off the excess and dip the opposite angle.

To make the leaves, I used a leaf mold and then attached the leaves to the pretzel stick with green candy. Then I added a touch of chocolate to the center of the pretzel stick and held it under the owl and added my feet.
